How we catch the ocean
When we built CLAX first giant aquarium the goal was to open the depths of the sea and make them explorable by anyone. For over 40 years we have refined CLAX designs and engineering techniques, perfecting the characteristics of the materials and the spectacularity of the design.
Today, CLAX record-breaking aquariums are much more than just acrylic plates. They are invisible windows on a magical world that create unforgettable experiences. Millions of people every year stop in front of CLAX PMMA AQuariA, for them it is like being hundreds of meters deep. The cast acrylic blocks of high thickness and high molecular weight for underwater use is called AQuariA® and it’s a prerogative of Clax – AQuarium Division.
AQuariA® Acrylics are the top class production of Perclax® PMMA with special chemical properties, which make them suitable for underwater use and/or for the construction of large aquariums. AQuariA PMMA can be curved by thermoforming to obtain cylinders and tunnels of large dimensions, maintaining excellent and unaltered optical, physical and transparency qualities and properties.
